Introduction: A Boutique Escape in Bangkok
During my trip to Bangkok in early April 2025, I stayed at the VIE Hotel Bangkok, a 5-star boutique property under the MGallery collection. It turned out to be a highly satisfying choice. The hotel offers a sophisticated, modern aesthetic that feels more like a gallery than a traditional hotel, with art-deco touches and cozy, ambient lighting throughout the property.
Location & Accessibility
The hotel is perfectly situated near the BTS Ratchathewi station, just a five-minute walk away. It is incredibly convenient for exploring the city, providing easy access to major shopping hubs like Siam Paragon, MBK, and the Platinum Mall. While the location is central, it remains surprisingly quiet and free from the chaotic noise of the city.
A few practical trade-offs to keep in mind: the nearest BTS entrance has stairs rather than an escalator, and there isn’t a convenience store immediately adjacent. You’ll need to cross the street toward the BTS station to find one, as there are no crosswalks directly in front of the hotel.
Room Experience: The Executive Suite
I stayed in an Executive Suite, which felt like a great value compared to standard rooms. The suite was exceptionally spacious, featuring a separate living room and bedroom. I spent plenty of time lounging on the comfortable sofas in both rooms. The bathroom was equally impressive, with a separate shower, bathtub, and toilet, plus excellent water pressure and drainage.
Pro-tip: If you need space for your own snacks or fruit, you can ask the staff to clear the minibar for you upon arrival.
Dining & Lounge: The Piano Bar
One of the highlights of my stay was the cocktail and canapé hour at the Piano Bar, held daily from 3 PM to 5 PM. This benefit is available to Executive Suite guests and Accor Platinum or Diamond members. It’s a quiet, elegant space—perfect for escaping the afternoon heat. With a variety of drinks (including non-alcoholic mocktails) and enough food to almost serve as a light dinner, it was a highlight of my daily routine.
Breakfast Highlights
Breakfast is served on the 11th floor in a very spacious dining area. The variety is impressive, ranging from fresh juices and healthy options to a fantastic bakery selection. I particularly enjoyed the Thai-style fried omelets and the coconut pancakes. They also offer fresh fruits like longan, which is a rare treat. While mango wasn’t on the menu, the quality of the other dishes, including the rotating daily specials like Japanese yakisoba, made for a great start to every morning.
Facilities & Practical Tips
- Fitness & Wellness: The hotel features a large fitness center equipped with InBody machines. I even participated in a free yoga class, which I highly recommend; you can book these through the hotel app or by speaking with the concierge.
- Transportation: The hotel offers a free tuk-tuk service to major malls like Siam Paragon and MBK. You can request this easily via the hotel’s app or by calling the concierge.
- Digital Convenience: I loved that I could handle almost all requests—from room services to activity bookings—via the hotel’s app chat function, which felt much more convenient than making phone calls.
Conclusion
Despite a brief maintenance period for the rooftop pool during my visit (which is now back in operation), my stay at VIE Hotel Bangkok was excellent. It strikes a great balance between luxury and value, making it a solid recommendation for anyone looking for a comfortable, well-connected base in the heart of Bangkok.
