Why We Returned to Maison de Mer 401
After a wonderful experience last June, my family returned to Maison de Mer in Yangyang this past July for a two-night stay. We didn’t hesitate to book Room 401 again for our trip with another family, bringing along our 5-year-old and 6-year-old children. Having visited twice now, I can confidently share why this spot remains a top choice for us.
Accommodation Overview: Layout and Accessibility
Located at 694 Donghae-daero, Hyeonnam-myeon, Yangyang-gun, Maison de Mer is well-positioned for a coastal getaway. Even though Room 401 is on the top floor, the building has an elevator, which made moving our luggage a breeze.
The layout is perfect for two families traveling together. It features two separate rooms, a large living room, and two bathrooms. The living area provided plenty of space for the kids to play while the adults relaxed, and the kitchen was well-equipped for preparing simple meals. Check-in is at 16:00, and check-out is at 11:00.
The Rooftop Experience
One of the highlights of our stay was the rooftop. It is surprisingly spacious, offering enough room for the kids to play on a mat while the adults enjoyed the ocean view. We even had some rainy weather during our trip, which actually added a cozy atmosphere to our evening drinks and meals on the roof. You can also enjoy a BBQ here for an additional charcoal fee. At night, we were treated to the sight of fireworks being set off near Ingu Beach, which was a hit with both the kids and the adults.
Nearby Beach Guide: Why Gwangjin Beach is Perfect for Kids
If you are traveling with children, I highly recommend Gwangjin Beach. It is just a 5-minute walk from the accommodation via a dedicated path. Because of the breakwater, the waves are very calm, making it an ideal spot for kids to play in the water safely. The water is clear enough that we saw many people snorkeling, and we felt completely at ease letting the children play there.
Practical Tips
Parking is very convenient, with plenty of free space available right in front of the building. The owner is consistently kind and welcoming, which made our stay even more pleasant. Given the quality of the facilities and the excellent location, we found the value to be great.
Conclusion
Our second visit was just as satisfying as the first. Between the spacious, family-friendly room layout and the proximity to the calm waters of Gwangjin Beach, it is a place we genuinely enjoy. We are already planning to return next year.
