A Weekend Visit with My Six-Year-Old

This past weekend, I took my six-year-old to the children’s section of the Jungnang Sangbong Library. We had a special mission: my child had finished reading over 100 books and we were there to collect a badge! Since the library is relatively close to our home, it was the perfect destination for a meaningful weekend outing.

Facilities and Convenience

The children’s section is located on the 3rd floor, which you can easily reach by elevator. From the moment we arrived, I was impressed by how clean and pleasant the environment felt. It is clear that the library was designed with the safety and convenience of young children in mind.

One of the standout features is the dedicated toddler-specific area. It is incredibly convenient for parents because it includes a separate nursing room and a children’s restroom right inside the space. It made our visit much more stress-free.

Reading Environment and Book Selection

The library is thoughtfully organized with low bookshelves, allowing my six-year-old to browse and pick out books independently. The collection is quite extensive, ranging from picture books to creative fairy tales. There is even a dedicated corner for English books, which was a nice surprise.

Beyond just borrowing books, there is plenty of space to sit and read comfortably. We spent a long time in a cozy, cushioned area, and it was such a joy to have that uninterrupted time to read together—something that can be hard to manage at home.

Creative Activities

What really kept my child engaged was the dedicated space for drawing and crafting. It’s not just a place for books; it’s a place where kids can express their creativity. My child loved having that extra activity, which made the visit feel even more special.
