Visiting JW Marriott Jeju with a 6-Year-Old

During a weekday stay at the JW Marriott Jeju Resort & Spa in mid-May, I decided to enroll my 6-year-old in the resort’s “Re-Play Kids Camp” half-day program. As this was my child’s first time participating in a drop-off activity away from us during a trip, I was initially a bit nervous about how they would handle the separation.

Program Overview: Re-Play Kids Camp

The Re-Play Kids Camp Half-Day runs from 14:00 to 17:30 and is priced at 124,000 KRW. I booked this in advance through the resort’s website after confirming our stay, as the curriculum—which includes nature-based play and a children’s cooking class—seemed like a perfect fit for my child’s interests.

Experience: Separation and Teacher Interaction

Since we visited on a weekday, my child was the only participant, essentially turning the session into a private class. Any concerns I had about the separation vanished quickly. The staff were incredibly attentive, approaching my child with warmth and kindness to help them settle in. They made the transition seamless, and my child was soon fully immersed in the activities.

Highlights: Nature and Scone Making

The program was a hit. My child was beaming when I picked them up, eager to recount every detail of their afternoon. The highlight was undoubtedly the cooking class; my child was so proud to present the scones they had baked themselves. We enjoyed eating them together back in our room, and they were surprisingly delicious. The kids club facility itself is clean and well-maintained, featuring a dedicated restroom for children, which added to the convenience.

Parental Benefits: Peace of Mind

While my child was occupied, my partner and I were able to enjoy some rare, relaxing downtime to explore the resort facilities. I also appreciated the communication; the staff provided updates and photos of my child’s activities via KakaoTalk throughout the afternoon, which was very reassuring.

Conclusion: A Worthwhile Experience

Although the program is an investment, the high level of care and the quality of the experience made it feel worthwhile. It wasn’t just a childcare service; it was a genuine opportunity for my child to engage with nature and learn new skills. My child still talks about the camp as much as they talk about the swimming pool, and they have already asked to go back. If you are planning a family trip to Jeju, I highly recommend this program, even for children who are trying a drop-off activity for the first time.
