The Arrival of The Cheesecake Factory in Bangkok

I had heard plenty about The Cheesecake Factory, even though I had never actually tried it during my time in the United States. When I learned that Thailand’s first branch had opened at Central World just days before my trip to Bangkok, I knew I had to add it to my itinerary.

Timing Your Visit

Curiosity got the better of me, so it was one of the first stops on my trip. I visited on a weekday afternoon and was pleased to find no wait at all. However, if you are planning to visit on a weekend, be prepared—I’ve heard that wait times can be quite significant.

Beyond the Cheesecake

While the name suggests a dessert-only spot, the restaurant is actually a full-service establishment. They offer a wide range of American-style dishes, including brunch options and steaks. They even have lunch sets available, which could be a great way to sample more of their menu if you are visiting during the day.

The Takeaway Experience

Initially, I had hoped to order delivery, but I couldn’t find the restaurant on any of the delivery apps at the time. I decided to head to the store in person. Since I had already eaten, I opted to skip the dine-in experience—which is subject to additional service charges and taxes—and instead ordered two slices of cheesecake to go.

I chose the Vanilla Bean Cheesecake and the Chocolate Mousse Cheesecake. Each slice costs a little over 10,000 KRW. While the price point is on the higher side, it is reportedly quite similar to the pricing in the U.S.

My Verdict

After trying them, I can confirm they are delicious. The Vanilla Bean Cheesecake was incredibly rich and dense; I personally found it even better than the Chocolate Mousse version. Since this brand isn’t available in Korea, I’d definitely recommend stopping by if you find yourself at Central World and want to see what the hype is about.
